The ״Gems״ Magazine is a Jerusalem lifestyle and cultural magazine that showcases the connection between the city's ancient past and it's vibrant modern identity. It's a seasonal magazine released four times a year, featuring special editions that categorize Jerusalem's hotspots into categories like culinary, nightlife, special attractions, and news.
Each edition focuses on a central theme such as "Between Modern and Classic ," and accordingly, the magazine is designed with two main fonts. The first font is a modern title font, accompanied by a classic font for the rest of the text with classic paragraph styles. The combination of these fonts emphasizes the tension between modern and traditional Jerusalem. Additionally, the magazine's layout is thoughtful, with every two pages serving as a standalone poster, showcasing the city's beauty with typography gradients that add texture to the poster beyond the content of the items.
